The Malaysian Association of Artificial Intelligence Technology and Innovation (MAAI) is a national industry association committed to advancing artificial intelligence, technological innovation, and digital transformation in Malaysia.
Founded by Datin Alice Low, MAAI was officially registered in 2023 under the Registry of Societies Malaysia (ROS), Jabatan Pendaftaran Pertubuhan Malaysia, with registration number PPM-010-14-12072023.
Established with a bold vision for Malaysia’s technological future, MAAI serves as a strategic platform connecting government agencies, industry leaders, corporations, investors, universities, technology providers, entrepreneurs, and global innovators.
MAAI’s mission is to accelerate innovation, strengthen Malaysia’s AI ecosystem, and support the nation’s transformation into an Industry 4.0 powerhouse and a leading centre for artificial intelligence and innovation in Southeast Asia.

As the Permanent Honorary Founding President of MAAI, Datin Alice Low has played a pivotal role in shaping the association’s direction and international outlook.
Driven by a strong commitment to technological advancement, she actively engages with AI companies, research institutions, industry leaders, and innovation ecosystems across the world, particularly in China, to identify technologies, expertise, partnerships, and opportunities that can contribute to Malaysia’s development.
Through these international engagements, MAAI also serves as an important gateway for global AI companies seeking to understand Malaysia’s market, explore strategic partnerships, and identify investment and business opportunities within the country.

On 18 November 2025, MAAI organised Driving Malaysia’s AI Transformation 2026, a national AI forum co-organised with Boustead Holdings Berhad.
The forum brought together government leaders, government-linked companies, corporations, investors, universities, industry experts, and global AI innovators to exchange insights, build partnerships, and contribute towards shaping Malaysia’s future in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
The initiative reflected MAAI’s commitment to moving beyond AI awareness and towards practical adoption, industry collaboration, commercialisation, talent development, and nationwide transformation.
